Sound installation
10 small speakercones, speaker cable, five cd
players, five amplifiers, recorded sound from doorbells.
The piece "…ppna" (Open) was created
during a collaboration with Malmš Art Academy, and the sound as well as the
title refer to some other pieces that used motion-controlled doorbells. The
piece was built as a sculptural
installation with nine speakers in a symmetrical pattern and a tenth a distance
apart.
The sounds was manipulated versions of the
doorbell, and used an elaborate formula to control when they should go on and
off. The piece was constructed as a one-hour long loop.
…ppna (Open) was shown at
